A custom built WordPress theme active on 1,000+ sites, Beecher Stowe uses a design system to ensure that non-technical users can still produce beautiful and functional sites.

If I could pick one word to describe the perfect design system, it would be “bulletproof”. Beecher Stowe (BS) is offered on UConn’s WordPress-based system, Aurora. Aurora is self-service in which the overwhelming majority of users are non-technical, so BS and other themes need to be rock solid. Pre-built templates and layouts are available to simplify site creation, but if the user opts to do something custom, the look stays harmonious thanks to the design system.
